| Presidential Campaign Report
Project Outline |
| Part 1. Background |
For your project, you have chosen one
of the candidates for President. Your task will be to research and present
the following information. How old is your candidate, what is his/her
current job, what (if any) political offices has he/she held previously,
where is his/her home, why does he/she want to be the President? You
may add any other information that you feel is important.

| Part 2. Campaign Issues |
As part of your research, you will have to research your candidate’s
position on the critical issues facing the nation. Prepare a report
or list of those issues and how your candidate proposes to address them.

| Part 3. Progress
of the Campaign |
For Democratic and Republican candidates, follow and report on their
successes or failures in the primaries and caucuses. Watch for television
advertisements pay attention to endorsements by national organizations
or national figures, read newspaper or magazine articles, collect political
cartoons, collect campaign literature or follow national polls. All
of this information will be valuable as you try to determine your candidate’s
chances of getting elected. Do you see a particular personality or character
trait that is helping or hurting your candidate’s chances of getting
elected?

| Part 4. Presentation |
You will be expected to prepare a written
summary of all of the information requested above, more importantly,
you will have to develop and design a presentation for the class. It
could take almost any form you choose as long as it gets the information
across to the class. Some suggestions you might want to entertain include:
posters, music, poetry, report, art, web page, PowerPoint, video, booklet
or pamphlet, mock interview or video.

| Part 5. Basic Requirements |
The acceptable form of the written summary is outlined as follows:
Typed or word processed
Standard font in standard size, Single spacing
Do not make a separate cover with pictures, etc. Please put
the following information in the upper right hand corner of
your first page:
